Let us introduce ourselves
We may be popping round to see you soon, either for a short visit or for a longer period. It’s nice to know who to expect. Below, all our staff introduce themselves briefly. The first step has been taken: we’ll be seeing each other in person soon and can get to know each other properly. See you then!

I qualified as a nurse in 2011 and immediately started working at Kustzorg, under my mother’s guidance. After spending years behind the scenes learning the ropes, I became the team coordinator myself in 2024. I am also a diabetes educator and am involved in the onco@home project in collaboration with AZ Zeno. I love the variety this job brings. On the one hand, there is the wide range of nursing tasks which, due to shorter hospital stays, are increasingly being carried out in the home setting. On the other hand, there is dealing with psychological vulnerabilities or providing high-quality end-of-life care. But home nursing has an extra dimension that goes beyond nursing alone. This includes liaising between different services and ensuring that various aspects of a person’s home situation can be improved.
Jessy

I am the driving force behind and founder of Kustzorg, which I set up in 1985. Straight out of school, at the request of a GP, I began visiting people in their homes. That was the start of my career. After 41 years of service, I still do this with heart and soul. As a ‘mater familias’, I enjoy taking a holistic view of people’s circumstances and derive great satisfaction from helping patients, not only in terms of nursing care but also in other areas. With my years of service, I am a well-known figure who knows exactly which contacts to turn to in order to try and improve the quality of people’s home lives.
Ann

Kimberly
I have 11 years’ experience in the care sector. I started out in a residential care home and then worked for 5.5 years at AZ Zeno, where I progressed from care assistant to nurse. In 2022, I graduated with a diploma in geriatric nursing. Since 2024, I have been working as a self-employed home nurse, and in November 2025 I joined Kustzorg. As I am keen to continue developing my skills, I am currently studying for a bachelor’s degree in nursing. In my spare time, I particularly enjoy spending quality time with my little boy.

Mariska
I have been a nurse since June 2023 and have been working at Kustzorg since August 2023. Before that, I worked in a care home for six years. I qualified as a psychiatric nurse and have a keen interest in people with mental health vulnerabilities, particularly those suffering from addictions and personality disorders.

Valerie
I have been working as a nurse for 25 years. I started out in Switzerland in the neonatal unit. After that, I spent 1½ years at the Zeepreventorium in De Haan working with toddlers with eating disorders. I then spent 6 years in the internal medicine department at AZ Zeno. I subsequently moved into home care with Kustzorg. After 14 years at Kustzorg, I took a three-year break to work in radiology at Sint-Jan. There, I mainly worked on ultrasound and mammography. Since February this year, I have returned to home nursing. My interests within (home) nursing lie primarily with the person themselves. Where can I make a difference, and what are the patient’s needs? In my spare time, I clear my head by going for walks, reading and playing the piano. I’m also a mum to two sons.

Stephanie
My name is Stephanie. I am 33 years old and come from Dudzele. I have now been working as a nurse for 10 years, eight of which have been spent in the outpatient clinic for gastrointestinal and liver diseases at AZ Zeno. In the outpatient clinic, I deal with a high turnover of patients on a daily basis, and my work very often involves technical procedures. In February this year, I decided to take on a part-time role in home nursing with Kustzorg. Here, I can make just that little bit more of a difference to my patients. The personal contact and seeing the same people time and again make it a pleasure. The variety also makes home nursing just as enjoyable.

Debbie
My name is Debbie and I have been working at Kustzorg since 1 April 2018. Before that, I worked in a care home and in home nursing. I enjoy learning about herbs and plants and their healing effects on the body and mind. I try to use this knowledge to add that little bit extra to the care I provide.

Fanfan
My name is Fanfan and I’ve been working at Kustzorg for a year now. Before that, I did various freelance assignments in both home care and a care home. In my spare time, I enjoy going for walks and attending music gigs. What really motivates me is the spontaneous and genuine smile from the clients in the morning when I arrive.

Hermia
I have been working at Kustzorg since 2023. Before that, I worked in care homes and hospitals. I have a great deal of respect for my patients and am passionate about my work. Seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces gives me a great sense of fulfilment.

Veronique
I started out as a volunteer at Caritas, where I realised that nursing was my calling. After completing my training, I joined the surgical ward at AZ Sint-Lucas, where I worked with great dedication for three years, finding great fulfilment in providing comprehensive care for patients. In 1989, I made the move to Kustzorg, where I have continued to develop my skills in home nursing ever since. My knowledge and assistance also come in very handy at my husband’s GP practice for wound care, blood tests and so on.
